Artist statement

Flutter Mountain is a vibrant collage artwork that invites viewers into a whimsical and imaginative world. Inspired by the beauty of nature and the power of perspective, this piece combines various elements to create a visually captivating landscape.

At the heart of Flutter Mountain lies a faraway photograph taken from the sky, showcasing the breathtaking beauty of green forest mountains merging with the vastness of the ocean. This background serves as the foundation for the artwork, providing a sense of serenity and tranquility.

To introduce a subtle change of perspective, I incorporated a photograph of a sunset taken from above the clouds in the top half of the background. This unexpected placement challenges the viewer's perception, encouraging them to explore different angles and interpretations.

Adding a playful and joyful touch, two cartoon rainbows gracefully arch on either side of the collage. These vibrant rainbows symbolize hope, happiness, and the promise of new beginnings. They serve as a reminder to embrace the beauty and positivity that can be found even in the simplest of things. 

Dominating the composition are two giant red mushrooms, their size emphasizing their significance within the artwork. These mushrooms represent growth, transformation, and the hidden wonders that can be found in nature. They invite viewers to delve into their imagination and explore the magical possibilities that lie within the natural world.
